Engineering Manager
Location: Pune, India
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead end-to-end project delivery, drive engineering excellence, and build high-performing teams.
This role is designed for an engineering leader who has grown through hands-on software development, progressed into a Tech Lead role, and now manages small to mid-sized engineering teams. The Engineering Manager will own project execution, delivery outcomes, customer relationships, and technical direction.
You will work closely with customers, architects, and engineering teams to solve complex technology challenges. The role combines delivery ownership, team leadership, account growth, and active involvement in modern engineering practices.

Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical direction on architecture, design decisions, engineering practices, and solution approaches.
- Collaborate with customers, architects, and engineering teams during solution design discussions.
- Review technical implementations, resolve critical engineering challenges, and ensure high-quality delivery standards.
- Guide teams in adopting scalable, maintainable, and efficient engineering practices.
Project & Delivery Management
- Own complete project delivery across timelines, budget, quality, risks, and team coordination.
- Define delivery plans, track progress, manage dependencies, and identify risks early.
- Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Establish delivery visibility through engineering metrics and proactive communication.
- Drive predictable execution with focus on customer commitments and business outcomes.
Client Engagement
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers across project updates, priorities, and escalations.
- Understand customer objectives and align engineering decisions with business goals.
- Build strong customer relationships through transparency, ownership, and consistent delivery.
- Identify opportunities to expand customer engagement through engineering value creation.
Engineering & DevOps Excellence
- Implement Agile delivery practices using Scrum, Kanban, and modern project management approaches.
- Promote DevOps practices that improve reliability, automation, and delivery efficiency.
- Encourage adoption of AI-assisted engineering workflows and modern development practices.
Team Management
- Manage day-to-day engineering activities, priorities, and team deliverables.
- Mentor engineers and support their technical and professional growth.
- Create a culture focused on ownership, continuous improvement, collaboration, and engineering excellence.
Qualification:
- 9+ years of experience in software engineering and project delivery.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an Engineering Manager.
- 2–3 years of prior experience as a Tech Lead managing technical execution.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, full-stack development, and modern engineering frameworks.
- Experience with technologies such as Node.js, React, Angular, Java, or similar technology stacks.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and project management tools such as Jira.
- Experience working in IT services organizations delivering digital engineering solutions and custom software products.
- Hands-on exposure to AI-powered software development practices.
- Experience using AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar AI coding assistants.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong curiosity and ability to continuously learn emerging technologies, especially in AI.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead teams through empathy, active listening, and clear direction.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and drive quick resolution.
- Ability to manage customer conversations, priorities, and conflicts effectively.
- Experience building engineering teams that balance technical excellence, ownership, and business impact.
